Keeping track of your dives just got easier: DiveMaster for Palm runs on your Palm Computing Organizer to let you instantly record information about your recent dives. It is also capable of downloading data from selected dive computers, making data entry as simple as connecting your devices with a cable. If you have a handheld GPS (Global Positioning System) unit with compatible data output, you can even record the coordinates of your dive site to within a few tens of feet. Live-aboards and private dive tour operators will love this feature. At home, DiveMaster for Palm synchronizes to your PC for data backup. If you also have our PC software, you can load and edit the data in great detail. Statistics can be compiled and hard copy printouts of your data can be produced. How does it work?
DiveMaster for Palm installs on your Palm device through your PC or Macintosh computer via the Palm Hotsync Manager software (included with your Palm). Once installed, DiveMaster for Palm acts like an electronic dive log, letting you "fill-in-the-blanks" for several screens of dive parameters. You can view each of the dive data entry screens below:
DiveMaster for Palm is limited only by the amount of memory in your Palm device. Typically several thousand dives can be stored in a single log. We recommend keeping several smaller logs, however, for the sake of organization and archival to a PC. Synchronizing to the PC is accomplished when you Hotsync your Palm in its cradle. The uploaded files can be opened in our PC software (demo included) using a small import utility provided. NOTE: Transfer of data from the PC BACK to the Palm will be supported in a future release. What will you need?
Which dive computers are supported? We hope to support the majority of dive computer manufacturers in the months to come. Initially, however, the list of supported computers will be limited. This is due to design time and possible hardware development that are involved in supporting many types of computer interfaces. A partial list of Manufacturers/devices that we are considering is:
