Jan. 24, 2001, New Orleans, LA – ReefNet Inc, developer of industry-leading dive
log software and fish identification CD-ROMs is pleased to announce at DEMA Show 2001 its
first hardware product for scuba divers.
SENSUS PRO is a new concept in both dive safety and dive logging convenience. In a case only 0.9” x
1.3” x 2” is a sophisticated sensor, memory and microcontroller capable of storing 100 hours of dive data
with a fine 10 second sampling interval. The sampling interval is user programmable from 1 second to
over 2 minutes. Data recorded include depth, temperature and time, which are stored in a 60 kb non-
volatile flash memory. The built-in lithium cell runs the device for up to 10 years.
Profile data from SENSUS PRO can be quickly downloaded to ALL major computer platforms including
PCs, Macs, and Palm devices. A universal download cradle makes connecting to any of these systems a
breeze. The download process, which takes just 30 seconds transfers data into ReefNet’s FREE SENSUS
PRO MANAGER, or into third-party software. Unlike dive computer manufacturers, ReefNet welcomes
third-party software development.
SENSUS PRO is constructed from virtually indestructible Ultem(tm) resin. Pressure testing to 700 fsw is
standard and units record data to 500 feet with +1 foot accuracy and +1 degree temperature accuracy.
Unique serial numbers are permanently marked on every device and are registered at purchase to the
divers or organizations that use them. ReefNet also offers custom laser engraving of a customer’s name,
phone number or other text. Dive shops can have all units distributed through them marked with the
company name and/or logo.
