Nicknamed "Pudge" and "I-Rod", Rodriguez is a Major League Baseball catcher who is currently a free agent. In his career, he has played for the Texas Rangers (on two different tours, comprising the majority of his career), Florida Marlins, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, and Houston Astros. He is ranked as one of the greatest defensive catchers in the history of the major leagues. Rodríguez was awarded the AL MVP award in 1999.
Rogers became the fourteenth Major Leaguer to pitch a perfect game on July 28, 1994 with the Rangers against the California Angels (the last no-hitter in Rangers history to date and the only perfect game in franchise history).
